Christine met Bishop Alvaro del Portillo when he came to Nigeria in 1989. She has a vivid memory of that encounter and especially of a work of art Don Alvaro did for her!

Wole Kushimo is a Nigerian medical doctor. He will be traveling from Nigeria to Madrid, Spain with some friends to witness first hand the beatification of Bishop Alvaro del Portillo. As a little child of eight years old, Wole remembers meeting Don Alvaro during his 1989 visit to Nigeria.

In a get-together filmed in Bogota, Colombia in 1983, Bishop Alvaro del Portillo insisted that we Christians have to be always young, with a youthfulness that will last forever.

Florence Ibekwe works in the poultry unit of the Iroto Rural Development Centre, Ogun State Nigeria. Here she tells of a favor she received thanks to the intercession of the soon-to-be-blessed Alvaro del Portillo

"Taste in your heart the need our world has to receive the graces of the Cross," Bishop Alvaro del Portillo tells us in a letter from September 1988.
