“Tell all the people you see to help me"

In Burgos on July 1, the Prelate passed on this request from Pope Francis, asking everyone to pray for the upcoming trip to South America.

I am very happy to be inBurgos. We are walking in Saint Josemaria's footsteps. When he arrived here in 1938, he came with many burdens… and also with many joys for the future. And also with sorrows, but as he told us on the eve of the golden anniversary of his priestly ordination, these sorrows were also joys.

Let us seek out small sacrifices: small ones and, at the same time, if the occasion arises, not so small ones. And what will we do with these? We will help the Church, help the Pope. I want to let you know that I had the opportunity to be with him on the feast of Saint Peter and he told me: “Tell all the people you see to help me. Because the burden that weighs on me is heavy."

So I ask you and ask myself: today how many times and in what way have you remembered him. For if we truly want to strengthen the body of the Church, the Mystical Body of the Church, we need to be closely united to the Pope, to the Common Father, to the one at the head, the Vicar of Christ, Peter's Successor. So don't fail…. Right now, all of us here… See how easy it is, because now each of us can say: “Lord, help the Pope." And you will pray for him and for his intentions, and specifically for the trip he is going to make to South America, which is going to be very difficult.
